Behind the Shades

To the mom who has kept it together all day, I see you.
To the mom who has smiled her way through any situation, I see you.
To the mom who has to just walk away for a minute to breathe, I see you.
To the mom who loves her kids beyond a doubt but longs for the day when "it gets easier", I see you.
And to the mom who walks away at the end of the day with tears streaming down  her face behind her shades, I see you
I am you.
And I know, today was hard. Like, really freaking hard.
And there is no break. There is no time off, no weekend, no vacation. Because this mom job is 24/7.
And we are so much more than "just a mom." YOU are so much more than "just a mom" so don't call yourself that.
You are a mom, and you are enough. In whatever situation you face, you are enough for your kids.
I wish I could come give you a hug and tell you, "I know, me too." Because sometimes that all we need. Validation and allowance to release all of it.

So, Im telling you right now, you are allowed. Let it go, as Elsa would say. (And what Mom on the planet didnt sing that in her head? I know you did!) Because you are a good mom. You are a great mom. And chances are, those looks you got today were from other moms thinking, "I feel ya."
