Happy New Year. Its January 3rd and I'm still trying to figure out what my goals for the year are. I don't really know what the difference between goals and resolutions are, but I like the sound of goals better.
Yesterday I sat down and started putting together my bullet journal. If you don't know what a bullet journal is, get on Pinterest and Google it! For those that crave a system and organization, like me... but also have a chaotic life and need to be flexible in the craziness, like me... then a bullet journal has your name written all over it. It is pretty much a make your own journal. It can be anything you want it to be. Especially if you are someone like me who makes a million lists and can't survive without her calendar, its nice to have everything all in one place.
So my journal has the monthly calendar with all my events written into it. It has a page with the days of this week in it and blank space so I can reflect and jot down some things that happened today. It has a "rate the day" page where I can use a color system to decide if today was amazing, average, tough, etc. It may sound a little complicated, but the beauty in it is that it can be whatever you want.
So it came time to make a goals page. Make a list of my goals for the year and find a way to track whether I am keeping up with them. There are so many things I want to change in 2017. So many ways I want to be different that I was in 2016. Mostly that have to do with my job as a mother and a wife. And mostly with housework (bleh!) So after some soul searching and simplifying, here are my goals for 2017.
-make my bed every morning
-drink 64 oz of water everyday
-read the Bible everyday, and read through the Bible in a year
-30 mins of exercise a day
-keep my house clean (load of laundry and dishes everyday)
-make some time for me, once a day
-go on a date with Dan once a month
There ya go. I'm sure most of you have very similar goals. And I'm sure most of you, like me, never can keep up with your aspirations. If our goals and lined up with God's goals for us, lean on Him and He will make it happen. Of course, as I've learned the hard way, it usually doesn't happen the way we want it to.But that's why He's God and I'm not.
So cheers to 2017. My year of restoration. I get back to the Me I'm supposed to be. I restore relationships I'm supposed to have vs. ones I hang on it because they are familiar to me. To restore my marriage, my faith, my passion. Restore.
Love y'all, Candi
