What to do with myself in 2014?

It's that time of year again... time when we reflect on the past year and think about all the good things and the bad things that happened. Where we decide what we want to change in ourselves or what goals we make for ourselves for the next year... and as always, I'm late, lol.
I know its already January 6th, but if you know me, you know I never do anything on time.

So this past year... let me reflect. I know that every year seems like it was an important year and a good year with my kiddos. Every year they learn and grow and change into a newer version of themselves. Its so neat to watch them grow into their personalities and learn to do new things. We celebrated a 1st birthday, and 5th birthday, and 7th birthday in 2013 for these babes. We also fell quickly in love and just as quickly had to say goodbye to a precious baby in 2013. As I type this, I would have been less than a month away from giving birth to a new baby. Its still heartbreaking to think about, but I know there in a bigger plan going on that is perfect, that I may not like sometimes, but I will strive to trust in.

Every year has its ups and downs, relationships grow and fade, and grow and fade, haha. I am very happy with where I am right now, though. Always room for improvement, but good to be content :-) Daniel and I just finished our 9th year of marriage and we are starting our 10th! Unbelievable! The discussion of a 4th baby is closed right now. Who knows if it will ever be open again, but I find joy in the possibility :-) Our three kiddos are thriving. They take me y surprise everyday with something they do or say! Gracie is in the beginning stages of reading, and Bradley has just taken off. Emily is picking up words left and right! She hears Dan and I call each other "babe" so she has starting calling us that, too. SO cute! Our house is a wreck AS ALWAYS, lol but we are working on finally getting Brad's room turned into a boy room! It has been pink and purple for the past 2 and a half years because we never painted it when we moved in :-) So the Childers house is good :-)

As for plans in 2014... I have no idea. I was thinking about what "resolutions" I want to make, or really goals for myself. Some say no soda in 2014, some say reading their Bible through this year, or going to the gym everyday... or at least 3 times a week :-) All of these sound good, and all are things I need to be doing in some form. I for sure have committed, along with other church members, to memorize one scripture every week. I've got the first week's down! Woohoo! 51 more to go! haha
Every year I try to read my Bible all the way through, and have yet to do it within a year's time! Maybe this will be my year!!

God is calling me. I just wrote a whole paragraph about my goals for myself this year, and I felt like He wanted me to erase it and say this... Trust the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Scripture memory at its best :-) that scripture popped in my head, and was spoken to my heart. Here I was typing about all my plans for organization and setting my priorities straight, and then God tells me... just trust in Me, let Me guide you and it'll be good. Wow....

K, I'm ready for 2014 :-)
